Summer is just around the corner so many people are getting their beach bodies ready. But if this makes you anxious because you have not had success with weight loss programs in the past, you may need a new solution. This season, a weight loss detox may be the answer you are looking for.
There are common problems that many of us have when it comes to losing weight. These include; fatigue, cravings, not enough time to make the required meals and even fatigue. Using some techniques found in a weight loss detox might help you stick to your program.
Information about a weight loss detox may be hard to come by. Most of the information available is generic or involves supplements. So here are four tips that can help you get and stay on a healthy, weight loss detox.
Tip 1 - Find healthy replacement foods for any unhealthy, fattening foods. Think of this as a two step process. You must find healthy versions of fatty foods that sabotage your goals. You must also seek out restaurants that have healthier versions of fast or fatty foods that tempt you.
Some foods may be harder for you to resist. This may be for a number of reasons from being convenient and comforting to just plain old tasty. These foods become harder to resist when you are tired, so having a healthier replacement ready can help. For example, if you love cookies, have a lower sugar, oatmeal cookie ready. Oatmeal is healthier than white flour. But be sure to keep it in your cupboard to follow the out-of-sight, out-of-mind rule.
Many times we go to fast food restaurants because they are convenient, especially after a hard days work and you just don’t feel like cooking. So, you figure you can still go to your favorite, but you’ll order that healthy salad instead of the fatty fries. Then you walk in, the smell is overwhelmingly good so you figure, next time and go ahead and order the fries anyway. You can overcome this.
Look for healthier restaurants that are on your way home from work, close to your home, or close to your work. Some restaurants offer healthier versions of favorites such as protein burgers, which exchange bread for a healthier leafy, green lettuce wrapping. Other restaurants carry leaner black beans which can replace beans that have been fried in lard.
Many local health food stores have lunch counters or even salad bars along with a nice patio area to eat your meal at. Seek these out. Find all the restaurants that offer healthier, convenient choices and when you are tired, go to these instead. Chances are they won’t bombard you with the tempting smells of foods that can sabotage your weight loss detox.
Tip 2 - Drink only drinks that help your weight loss detox. Avoid diet sodas and diet drinks that are empty calories. In fact, some health professionals believe these diet drinks are unhealthy and can make it harder for you to lose weight. Here are some better and healthier drinks.
Warm lemon water has long been used to help the body flush waste, including excess fat. Green tea has been used to help curb appetite as well as help your body lose belly fat quicker. And it is one of the most well-known cancer fighters available. Fresh grapefruit juice and cranberry juice (unsweetened, of course) both have fat burning enzymes and help with weight loss programs.
Tip 3 - Have a green salad before your noon and evening meals. You can add a couple other vegetables, but avoid croutons or crackers. If you use a dressing that contains buttermilk or other unhealthy fat, dilute it with water. This will allow you to use less while covering more of your salad. And be sure to eat your salad before your meal.
Eating a fresh salad before your meal can stimulate digestion, preparing it for your main course. This is important to strong metabolism since how well you break down, or digest, food contributes to how fast your metabolism works. In addition, eating your salad before a meal can help you stick to eating proper portions of proteins and starches.
Tip 4 - Take an essential fatty acid supplement, also known as EFA’s. Most people need more of this essential nutrient in their daily diet, and it seems to be especially helpful during weight loss. Studies show that they actually help dieters lose more weight and may even help control appetite. Essential fatty acids also are known to be important for healthy heart and brain function. All of these factors help you stay healthy on a weight loss program.
If you need a new solution for a new, healthier you, try a weight loss detox. It may be the answer you are looking for.
